It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Penelope R. Putnam in Simsbury, Connecticut, who passed away on July 7, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ruth Seymour Reed and Stayman Reed; and her brother Jonathan Reed. She is survived by: her husband John Christopher "Chris" Putnam; her caregivers, Karen Downey, Phyllis Cappa, Pat Kaz and Kathy Rollins; her children, Alison Jassen (Kerry) of Colebrook, Stephen Putnam (Jane) of Torrington, Allan Putnam of Bow and Sara Szafranski (Walter) of Burlington; and her brother Thomas Reed of New York City. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
