With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Oscar Manuel Marques of Simsbury, Connecticut, who passed away on January 7, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Oscar leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Francisco Marques and Maria Marques (Rebelo); and his brother Joe Marques. He is survived by: his wife Cecilia Marques (Patrocinio); his sons, Nelson Marques (Leslie) of East Granby and Jeffrey Marques of Newark, NJ; his grandson Tyler Marques of East Granby; and his siblings, Lucilia DeSousa (family: Odilia Duarte) and Victor Marques. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Vincent Funeral Home - Simsbury (880 Hopmeadow St, Simsbury, CT 06070). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Church - Simsbury (942 Hopmeadow St, Simsbury, CT 06070).
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to soup kitchens in Hartford County.
