With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Julia Donahue of Simsbury, Connecticut, who passed away on January 1, 2025 at the age of 97. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Julia Donahue to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her husband Brendan Donahue; her parents, Felice Carbone and Giovanna Carbone (Testa); her children, Lisa Phaneuf and Michael Donahue; and her siblings, Chrissie, Robert Carbone, Jean Heller and Rose Savarese.

She is survived by: her children, Paula Gold (David) of Durham, NC, Felice Donahue of Simsbury, Mary Rydingsward of Bristol, Brian Donahue of Bristol, Thomas Donahue (Kimberly) of Ponte Vedra, FL and John Donahue (Wendy) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; her children-in-law, Paul Phaneuf Jr. of Bristol and Deborah Donahue of Punta Gorda, FL; and her grandchildren, Jordan, Jana, Marc, Kelly, Conor, Rich, Brittany, Brendan, Julia and B. Clayton. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren and one great great-granddaughter.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home (211 N Main St, Southington, CT 06489). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Catherine of Siena Church (265 Stratton Brook Rd, West Simsbury, CT 06092).

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Catherine of Siena Church (in memo please write for Julia Donahue or the Malta House).
