He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Novak and Barbara Novak; his godfather Roland Novak; and his father-in-law Charles McGlauflin. He is survived by: his wife Christine; his children, Julia (Brandon), Lisa (Ryan) and Edward Jr.; his brother Stanley Novak II; his nephews, Stanley Novak III and Joseph Novak; his godmother Carol Vilkauskas; his goddaughter Theresa Kampf; his uncle Ed; his aunt Connie Burke; his friend Scott Williams; his mother-in-law Janet McGlauflin; and his siblings-in-law, Nancy, Mike Paquette, Thomas, Sharon McGlauflin, Susan, Rocky Balsamo, Diane and John DiSimone. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Vincent Funeral Home - Simsbury (880 Hopmeadow St, Simsbury, CT 06070). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary's Church (942 Hopmeadow St, Simsbury, CT 06070).
