It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Shirley Ann Doughtie of Rocky Hill, Connecticut, born in Hartford, Connecticut, who passed away on February 15, 2021, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest G. Wilson, Sr. and Carolyn Rivera (Bryant); and her husband Willie D. Doughtie. She is survived by: her children, Edward of Hartford, Glenda (Paul Bongiovanni) of Newington, Robert (Lisa Lubell) of The Bronx, NY, James (Kim) of Enfield and Carolyn of Newington; her grandchildren, Peter (Wendy), Malika, Athena and Cameron (Christina); her great grandchildren, Rosie, Raina, Delilah and Forest; and her brother Ernest G. Wilson Jr. of Merritt Island.
Shirley was a dedicated matriarch who valued family above all else, sharing and hosting family gatherings until the pandemic.
