He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Friend and Dorothy Friend (Woodbury); and his brothers, Arthur and Ray Friend. He is survived by: his friend Middletown; his children, David Friend (Susan) of Meriden, Galen Friend (Emily) of Leesburg, FL., Susan Chykirda (Danny) of Cromwell and Nancy Sullivan (Gerard) of Meriden; his sister Frances Kimball-Cole of Portland, ME; his sister-in-law Evelyn; his grandchildren, Tammy Altieri (Derek) of Woodbine, NJ. and David Friend (Donna) of Cromwell, Angelyn; and his great grandchildren, Zachary, Alyssa, Aimee, Louis, Owen, Aiden, Hunter, Aria, Zoe, Alex, Lilah, Joseph, Gabriella, Logan, Lucius and Fiona. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
