He was predeceased by: his father Sigel Akerman; his brother Roger; his stepfather Bengt Hoglund; and his father-in-law Carl Juthnas. He is survived by: his mother Martha Akerman (Harkonen); his wife Carin Akerman (Juthnas); his children, Benjamin Roger Akerman and Linnea Scarlet Akerman; his brother Glenn Akerman (Cassondra); his mother-in-law Irene Juthnas; his brother-in-law Bill Juthnas (Karen); and his nieces and nephews, Erik, Samantha, Chloe, Logan, Cameron, Brooke and Taylor.
