He is survived by: his son Little League; his wife Patricia Ellen (Ryan); his children, Laurie Hutson (Ashley), Kathryn Graf, John Jr. (Laura), Michael (Maura), Christopher (Patty), Timothy (Maryanne) and Thomas (Susi); his siblings, Raymond C. MacDonald Jr. and Margaret Arthur; and his siblings-in-law, Steve and Marie Ryan.
