He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph A. Mathieu and Patricia Mathieu (Biner); his brother Patrick; his nephew Ben Desaulnier; his aunts and uncles, Bob, Lee Mathieu, Ralph and Ann Mathieu; and his cousin Father Bob Mathieu.
He is survived by: his daughter Evelynn Rogers; his granddaughters, Heather Ramirez (Justin Gray) and Nikita Rogers; his great grandchildren, Marco Ramirez III and Emma Lenore Gray; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Cayden and Tatym Gray; his siblings, Joseph Mathieu (Melanie), Peter Mathieu (Linda) and Mary Lou Desaulnier (Ed); and his close friends, Grant, Cathy Courchaine, John Neslusan and Les Peabody. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and many cousins.
He self-taught himself to play the classical guitar and played at numerous nursing homes and special occasion events until the pandemic hit.
