Loving father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather" Domenic J, Polzella, age 89, of Prospect passed away peacefully July 27, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the widow of Loretta (Brillis) Polzella. Domenic was born December 23, 1928 in Waterbury, a son of the late Arcangelo and Filomena (Mancino) Polzella. Prior to his retirement in 1986 he was employed as a machine operator at Thin Sheet Metal. Domenic proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and was a member of VFW Post 7330 in Oakville. He leaves his son Anthony Polzella and his wife Bonnie of Prospect with whom he made his home, a son Angelo Polzella and his wife Joanne of Northford, his sister-in-law Mary Polzella of Waterbury, his granddaughter Emily Ann Polzella of Northford, two step grandchildren Matthew and Jessica Hess of Prospect, two step-great-grandchildren Wesley and Owen Hess and several nieces and nephews he was predeceased by his aunt Anna Mancino who took care of Domenic's father Arcangelo for many years and his sister Nicolina Sylvia of Waterbury. Arrangements : Funeral Mass Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 10 a.m. DIRECTLY at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Chase Parkway Memorial/Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, is in charge of arrangements.
