Ernest Peterson Obituary
We are sad to announce that on August 1, 2020, at the age of 94, Ernest Peterson of Portland, Connecticut passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William R. Peterson and Clara Emelia Bergeson Peterson; his wife Phyllis Ray Smith; his son William Raymond Peterson; his brothers, W. Arthur and J. Paul Peterson; and his sisters-in-law, Pearle J. and Sherrill P. Peterson.
He is survived by: his brother Ernie; his daughters, Ann Linnea P. Gilmour (Judy Gleason) of Lambertville, NJ and Martha P. (Jay Swanson) of Portland, CT.; and his great grandchildren, Thomas Gilmour IV, Janelle, Elijah, Amy Linnea Gilmour (Jim Schubert) of Jackson, NJ, Daniel Peterson Gilmour (Bevin) of Roswell, GA, Dr. Christopher Swanson (Margaret) of Atlantic Beach, FL, Ingrid Swanson Moss, Callum, Emelia, Isla, Raymond Peterson and Lauren Peterson Kerr (Shawn) of Walpole, MA. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Despite the pandemic, family and friends creatively found safe ways to visit and remain connected to him, so he was surrounded by their love and presence right through his last breath.
