He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Nelson and Mary Nelson (Maher) of Pomfret; and his brothers, John and Bill Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Rita Mae Nelson (Hack); his sons, Gregory Nelson of Higganum and James Jr. (Teressa Nelson) of Coventry; his granddaughter Shannon Nelson of Higganum; his pet Maggie McGoo; and his siblings, Paul (Joy Nelson) of Pomfret and Anne Navarro of Pomfret. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
