It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sharon (Sprouse) Downie of Plantsville, Connecticut, born in New Britain, Connecticut, who passed away on March 28, 2025, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Auburn T. Sprouse and Veronica E. Sprouse; her son Timothy Downie; and her sister Joan Sprouse. She is survived by: her husband Andrew Downie (Chuck) of Plantsville; her son Thomas Downie (Rebecca) of Southington; her granddaughter Kathryn Downie; her sister Janice Paradis (Robert) of Southington; her niece Liane Ringo (Garrett Weinberg) of Berlin; and her nephew Alex Paradis (Rachel) of Plantsville.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Carlson Funeral Home (45 Franklin Square, New Britain, CT 06051). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. James Episcopal Church (3 Mountain Rd, Farmington, CT 06032).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
