He was predeceased by: his wife Charlotte Howley (Linendoll); his daughter Dawn Howley; and his siblings, Eleanor Howley Andrews, Joseph, Francis and Don Howley.
He is survived by: his children, Coleen Howley of Plainville, Cheryl Maghini (Jerry) of Bristol, Pam Vann of San Arbor, CA, Edmund "Chip" Howley (Maureen) of Farmington and Kevin Howley (Tracy Harty) of Wilton, ME; his sister Ann Wilson (Ray); and his friend Shirley Kubie of Fort Myers. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
When Charlotte was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, Ed cared for her, often alone, and began a support group for caregivers.
