He was predeceased by: his parents, Christy Nielson and Eleanor Nielson (Carswell). He is survived by: his wife Madeline Nielson (Alink); his children, Lorrie Gehlbach (Bradley) of Grafton, MA and Matthew Nielson (Michelle) of Dartmouth, MA; his grandchildren, Harrison Gehlbach, Lauren Nielson and Owen Nielson; and his sister Esther Blair of Cromwell, CT..
