He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Galasyn and Frances Galasyn (Kowalsky); his siblings, Stanley, Joseph, Veronica, Jenny, John, Michael, Peter, Florence, Edward and Walter; his special Angel; and his granddaughter Melissa Miller.
He is survived by: his wife Aili Galasyn (Hakkila); his children, Elaine Prince (Paul) of Newport, VT, Valerie Poettgen (Karl) of Canterbury, CT, Frances Miller (Steve) of Port Orchard, WA, Katherine Wright (Larret) of Champaign, IL and Carl Lillquist (Denisse Rodriguez) of Pembroke Pines, FL; his grandchildren, Kelee Russ, William Poettgen, Christopher Poettgen, Benjamin Poettgen, David Miller, Christine Duarte, Lola Wright, Sylvia Lillquist and Paula Lillquist; and his great grandchildren, Charlotte Duarte and Lincoln Miller.
Memorial donations can be sent to the Quinebaug Valley Community College scholarship fund.
