He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo V. Poitras and Loretta Poitras (LaBrie). He is survived by: his wife Mary M. Poitras (Zukowski); his daughter Melissa A. Hundt (Christopher Hundt); his grandchildren, Anna, William and Emma Hundt; and his siblings, Theresa Wellinghausen (Christian) of Canterbury, Donald Poitras (Maureen) and Lorraine Pendleton (Charles) of Griswold. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
