He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer "Swede" Johnson and Maryrose Johnson (Robitaille). He is survived by: his wife Francine (Topor); his children, Joy Ware (Jason) and Randy Johnson (Sara Heydlauff); his sisters, Karin Barbieri and Kim Cyrus; and his grandchildren, Griffin and Kaden Ware. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
