With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Maria J Sousa of Pawcatuck, Connecticut, who passed away on November 17, 2024 at the age of 72. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Maria leaves behind and her impact on the lives of her loved ones. Though Maria may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Manuel A. Carreiro and Irene Raposo Carreiro. She is survived by: her husband James Archibald; her children, James Roderick Sousa (Erica) and Joann Marie Brown (Michael) of Westerly, RI.; and her granddaughters, Mikayla, Lydia and Regan. She is also survived by many sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home (121 Main St, Westerly, RI 02891). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Michael Church (60 Liberty St, Pawcatuck, CT 06379).
