He was predeceased by: his parent Aretha McQueen; and his children, Rick and Theresa. He is survived by: his wife Janet McLellan; his children, Michael Hurt (Amber) and Marilyn Harrison (Roy); his stepsons, Bill and Daniel McMillen (Kelly); his brother George McLellan (Nell); and his grandchildren, Christiana, Matthew, Chanequa and Danielle. He is also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
