He was predeceased by: his parents, Lew Griswold and Mary Griswold (Wells) of Oxford. He is survived by: his siblings, Russell (Phyllis), William Sr. (Jane), Linda Griswold and Dorothy Marple (Thomas); his nieces and nephews, Mark Sofia, William Griswold Jr. (Maria), Jason Griswold, Anna Sofia, Lisa Sofia, Jennifer Walsh (Jay) and Breanna Baez (Samuel); his great-niece Samantha; and his great-nephew Aleczander.
