He is survived by: his wife Stephanie Thornton Monsanto; his daughter Heather Monsanto Hauge of Middlebury, CT; his siblings, Val Monsanto Taft of West Hartford, CT and James Elkins Jr. (Martha) of Marion, NC; and his siblings-in-law, Deanna McKeever of Newtown, CT and Jack Thornton (Christine) of Chandler, AZ.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the United Methodist Church of Newtown.
