He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Matthews and Anna Mankulics Matthews; and his brothers, Art and Michael Matthews. He is survived by: his wife Carol Panda Matthews; his sons, Randy Matthews (Kathleen) of Seymour, Scott Matthews (Denise) of Oxford and Russ Matthews of Seymour; his grandchildren, Alyssa Matthews, Kristopher Matthews, Kolin Matthews, Kameron Matthews, Andy Matthews, Jeff Jones and Thomas Jones; and his great grandchildren, Noel Matthews, Jonathan Matthews, Kooper Matthews, Kenzie Matthews and Cortney Barden. He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, through the funeral home.
