He was predeceased by: his wife Doris Appell (Daniels); and his parents, Harold Appell and Martha Appell (Molyneux). He is survived by: his children, Philip Appell, Nancy Strempel and Timothy Appell; and his sisters, Alice Stopa, Jane DiMauro of Old Saybrook and Mary Lou Herel of Essex. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
