He was predeceased by: his father Robert R Rankin; his wife Fay Rankin; his brother Robert R. Rankin Jr.; and his half-sister Darlene Tiezzi. He is survived by: his mother Helen P. Rankin (Deep River) of Centerbrook; his siblings, Marilyn Sicord (Michael) of Lyme, Russell Rankin (Leigh Ann) of Centerbrook and Jay Rankin (Pam) of Old Saybrook; and his stepsiblings, Robert Gahran, Andrew Moore, Tina Moore, Daniel Moore and James Gahran.
