We are sad to announce that on January 31, 2025, at the age of 86, Bonnie Elizabeth Payer Phillips of Old Mystic, Connecticut passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Stephen Payer and Verna Briggs MacLeod; her son David Guthrie Phillips; her brothers, Harold S. Payer, Stephen C. Payer and Raymond V. Payer; her sister-in-law Patricia Phillips Bernhard; and her close friend Mark A. Turner.
She is survived by: her sister Verna Payer Buchs of Winter Park, FL; her sisters-in-law, Joyce H. Payer of Stonington, CT, Judith G. Payer of Ivoryton, CT and Elizabeth F. Payer of Liverpool, NY.; her children, Johanna Phillips-Clark (Warren) of Mystic, CT, Stephen Phillips (Jean) of Damariscotta, ME and Paul Phillips (Tracy) of Ledyard, CT.; and her grandchildren, Emily, John Clark, Katherine, Walker Phillips, Calum Phillips (Orion) and Elizabeth Phillips. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 10th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Mason's Island Yacht Club (7 Yacht Club Rd, Mystic, CT 06355).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bonnie's name to the Mystic Seaport Museum or the Mystic & Noank Library.
