William Foster O'Meara Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of William Foster O'Meara of Old Lyme, Connecticut, born in Hartford, Connecticut, who passed away on October 18, 2021 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. William Francis O'Meara and Marguerite O'Meara (Foster); his former wife Deborah Blair Lambert O'Meara; his brother John F. O'Meara; and his brother-in-law Paul F. Egan.

He is survived by: his wife Janice Smegelski-O'Meara; his children, David (Elizabeth) of Marlborough, CT, Richard (Stella) of Vienna, VA, Mary Ellen of Vienna, VA, Barbara Lefkovich (Marc) of Southington, CT, Steven (Karin) of West Hartford, CT, Jane Miller (Wade) of Arlington, VA, Katherine McKersie (William) of Greenwich, CT and Timothy (Jessica) of Oceanside, NY.; his stepchildren, Brenda Drake (Art) of Plymouth, Tracie Ortoleva (Tom) of Old Lyme, CT and Thomas A. Smegelski, Jr. of Naugatuck, CT.; his grandchildren, Hope Serebotseng, Kailee O'Meara, Charlotte, William, Ellie, Cody Lefkovich, Caitlin, Brendan, Sean, Erin O'Meara, Alison, Karl, John, Grace, Blair Miller, Riona and Arabella McKersie; his stepgrandchildren, Liam, Max McKersie, Allison Drake, Sophia and Ryan Ortoleva; his great grandchildren, Taylor and Ezra Serebotseng; his siblings, B. Maxwell O'Meara (Dottie) of Simsbury and Margot Egan; his sister-in-law Gloria O'Meara of West Hartford; and his children, Doc, Maureen, Yolande and Tammy. He is also survived by His many cousins, nieces and nephews and numerous friends.
