He was predeceased by: his wife Marion; and his son Andrew. He is survived by: his children, Kathy Amenta, Connie Merritt (Greg Fitzgerald), Judy Rowean (Paul), Jean Linderman (John), Polly Maglio (Gary), Larry Merritt (Michael McLaughlin), Chip Merritt (Luanne), Martin Merritt and Matthew Merritt (Jennifer). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
