Loving mother, grandmother & great grandmother" Mrs. Vita M. (Zappone) Salvatore, 91, of Oakville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the VITAS Innovative Unit at St. Mary's Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Antonio Salvatore. Vita was born in Cercemaggiore, Campobasso, Italy on October 22, 1926, daughter of the late Francesco and Vincenza (Petraroia) Zappone. She retired from Coyle Textiles Uniform Service after 30 years of working as a seamstress. She was a member of the Cercemaggiore Club and the Rosary Society at St. Mary Magdalen Church. She leaves one son, Michael Salvatore and his wife, Debbie of Wolcott, one daughter, Caterina Zeoli and her husband, Domenic of Florence, Italy, her son-in-law, Emil Mancini of Watertown, four grandchildren, Melissa Lloret and her husband, Mark of Wolcott, Mike Salvatore and his wife, Emily of Wolcott, Eda Zeoli and her husband, Pedro of Italy, Nadia Zeoli and her husband, Andrea of Italy, five great grandchildren, Mike III, Eli, Sophia, Barbara and Jennifer and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Frances Salvatore Mancini and three brothers, John, Domenic and Joe Zappone. Vita's family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Autumn Lake Health Care and VITAS Innovative Hospice Care for the great care given to her. Arrangements: Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT to St. Mary Magdalen Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
