He was predeceased by: his wife E. Joanne Mitchell (Jefferson); and his parents, Edward Mitchell and Alice Mitchell (Rose). He is survived by: his children, Joseph Mitchell of Watertown and Miriam Mitchell (Robert E. Decelles Jr.) of Deltona, FL; his sister Sandra Reilly (Patrick) of Goshen; his grandchildren, Ashley France (Daniel), Tabetha Misencik (Emery "EJ) and Cheyenne Decelles; his great grandchildren, Oliver, Adalynn and Hannah France; and his pet Happy.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Chase Parkway Memorial (430 Chase Pkwy, Waterbury, CT 06708). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 8:45 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the St. John the Evangelist Church (574 Main St, Watertown, CT 06795). A burial was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery (669 Platt Rd, Watertown, CT 06795).
