He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor M. Mercado Sr. and Isaura Rivera; his wife Anna Mercado; his brother Hector Mercado; and his grandson Robert Ruiz.
He is survived by: his children, Lissette Anderes, Victor Mercado (Sammy), Roberto Ruiz (Bobby) and Wanda Ruiz; his siblings, Carmen Mercado and Raul Mercado; and his grandchildren, Amanda Dodd, Alex Nieves, Jahaida Cardona, Chastity Rodriguez, Gianella Aguirre, Dominique Ferrer and Avanie Ruiz. He is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren.
