He was predeceased by: his parents, Nathaniel Sr. Lewis and Eleanor Lewis (Watson); his wife Florence; and his children, Donna Kettle, Lisa Ward and Jeffrey Ward.

He is survived by: his children, Rose Wiltsie, Laurie Benware, Gerald Ward, James Ward and Janice Pratt; his sons-in-law, Gerald Benware and Patrick Wilstie; and his caregiver Kelly Alves. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Church & Allen Funeral Home (136 Sachem St, Norwich, CT 06360). A burial was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 12:30 PM at the Maplewood Cemetery (184 Salem Turnpike, Norwich, CT 06360).
