It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edmund John Burke Jr. (Norwich, Connecticut), born in Farmington, Connecticut, who passed away on July 28, 2024, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmund Sr. Burke and Helen Burke (Keeley); and his sister K. Ann Messina. He is survived by: his wife Janet; his children, Jonathan (Jennifer) of Trumbull and Erin Maynard (Jason) of Colchester; his niece Lee-Ann Cleland (Sean); his nephew David of Florida; his brothers-in-law, Walter Koncinski of Tennessee and Dennis Koncinski (Tami) of Plainfield; and his pet Teddy.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ed's name to Project Healing Waters (https://projecthealingwaters.org) to support veterans healing through learning to fly fish.

“My sincere condolences to the Burke family. I had the privilege of working with Ed at the Errera Community Care Center . The 2 of us sat in a room together for 6 months trying to start the Veteran's Empowerment Committee, Thanks to Ed faithfully showing each week we finally got our committee. He had the biggest heart for his guys. But his biggest love was for his family. He was always there if I needed and advocate or supporter. Working with Ed was an honor.
