Dorothy Megan Lathrop Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dorothy Megan Lathrop (Norwich, Connecticut), who passed away on November 11, 2024 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Howarth and Emily Howarth (Edwards); her husband Ralph W. Lathrop; her son-in-law Matthew J. Cosenza; and her siblings, John R. Howarth and Edith Doubleday.
She is survived by: her children, Janet M. Cosenza of Bozrah, CT, Joyce L. Potoff (Alan) of Freeland, MI and Jonathan L. Lathrop (Anne Galliher) of Old Lyme, CT.; her grandsons, Christopher Allard (Carole) of Canton, MI, Jeffrey Potoff (Helene) of Southfield, MI and Matthew Potoff (Jennifer) of Chelsea, MI; and her sister Evelyn Hopkins of Lebanon, CT. She is also survived by one great-grandson, six great-granddaughters, and one great-great-granddaughter.
A celebration of life was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 at 1:30 PM at the St. David's Episcopal Church (284 Stoddards Wharf Rd, Gales Ferry, CT 06335). A burial was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Maplewood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to a local food pantry or Humane Society of your choice.
