Bernice Rice Obituary

We are sad to announce that on November 29, 2024, at the age of 93, Bernice Rice (Norwich, Connecticut) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Cormier and Elizabeth Cormier (Gauvin); her husband Spencer C. Rice; her brothers, Walter Cormier of Lisbon, CT, Edmond Cormier and Fidele Cormier of Norwich, CT; and her grandson Brandon Hust.

She is survived by: her brothers, Norbert Cormier of Norwich, CT and Ronald Cormier of Lady Lake; her children, Linda Kyle (late Albert Kyle) of Oakdale, CT, Lawrence Rice of Norwich, CT, Deborah Hust (Robert Hust) of Norwich, CT, Gary Rice (Rosemarie Marcos) of Summerfield, FL and Sharon Landry (William Landry) of Summerfield, FL.; and her grandchildren, Erin Kyle-Sonn, Ryan Kyle, Michael Kyle, Jillian Smart, Vanessa Brule, Kristina Laboy, Crystal Ortega, Nichole Main, Kelsey Lawhead, Carly Hust, Nicholas Rice, Christopher Rice, Jessica Cooper and Kimberly Gernhard. She is also survived by 24 Great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Labenski Funeral Home (107 Boswell Ave, Norwich, CT 06360). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Cathedral of St. Patrick (213 Broadway, Norwich, CT 06360).
