He is survived by: his wife Ivy Mae Gayle; his stepdaughter Pamela Gordon; his children, Hyacinth Clark-Blake, Delroy Gayle, Donald Gayle, Trevor Gayle, Nigel Gayle and Leon Gayle; his stepdaughter Evonne Smith; his grandchildren, Wardia, Annmarie, Michael, Sharon, Maxine, Gregory, Bernard, Ouida, Ray, Geniene, Renee, Corey, Jamar, Sheldon, Bryan, Andrey, Llatoya, Kristen, Megan, Maxwell and Tafari; and his siblings, Tony Gayle, Maizie Gayle and Angela Gayle. He is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren.
