Virginia Rose Morabito Obituary
Virginia Rose Morabito, 95, beloved wife of the late Antonio Morabito passed away peacefully on October 13, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born in Reggio Calabria, Italy on November 1, 1928 and was the daughter of the late Carlo and Maria (Veracalli) Romeo. She moved to the United States in 1954.
She is survived by her son Joseph Morabito and his wife Patricia of Norwalk, daughter Maria Westhoff and her husband Stephen of Arizona, and her brother Rocco Romeo and his partner Brenda Goldstein. She left behind 7 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren who adored her deeply, loved her company and spending time with their Nonna. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
She welcomed family and friends with delicious home cooked meals and specialty cookies. She loved her garden, knitting, and walking. She volunteered at S.T.A.R. Lighting the Way and St. Thomas church.
She was predeceased by her sister Angelina Raco and her husband Rocco, her brother Orlando Romeo and his wife Domenica, her sister Grace Romeo and her husband Nicola.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank the hospice services of RYNAhealth for great care during her final days. We would also like to thank our amazing caregivers of Vilma and Sol for their loving nurturing and excellent care over the years.
Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, Oct 16, from 6-7PM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, 10 AM at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery.
