Tuula I. Fabrizio Obituary
Dr. Tuula I. Fabrizio, 92 of Norwalk, passed away on November 7, 2023, at Greenwich Hospital. She was born in Helsinki, Finland, and was the beloved wife of the late John A. Fabrizio, LLB. Dr. Tuula Fabrizio was a highly distinguished physician, trauma surgeon, and accomplished medical writer who contributed to various medical journals including the Journal of American Medical association in both the United States and Finland.
She earned her Doctorates of Medicine and Philosophy in Helsinki, where she initially practiced medicine. In 1962, she relocated to Norwalk, CT, where she practiced in the emergency departments of Norwalk, Stamford, Milford, and Bridgeport hospitals. Her distinguished career included a retirement from St. Vincent's and the establishment of a private practice specializing in occupational medicine.
Dr. Fabrizio held memberships in multiple prominent medical organizations, including but not limited to being a Fellow at the American College of Preventative Medicine, a charter member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, a member of the American Medical Association, Fairfield County Medical Association, and CT State Medical Society. She was an active member of Emergency Physicians, International College of Pediatrics, and the American Medical Writers Association.
She is survived by her loving sons, John Fabrizio and his wife Ana, and Robert Fabrizio and his wife Catherine and leaves behind four cherished grandchildren: Robert, Catherine, Bianca and John Jr..
