Rita Camerota Obituary
Rita Camerota, 88, passed with her family by her side on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at Stamford Hospital. Born in Scauri, Italy, daughter of the late Francesco and Francesca (Cappuccia) Nardella, she was the wife of the late Pasquale Camerota. She was also predeceased by six siblings and her son-in-law Leo Barry.
A devoted family woman, she enjoyed caring for her family, cooking, baking, knitting & crocheting and enjoyed reading Italian books and articles. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends made at the St. Ann's Club and the Norwalk Senior Center.
Rita is survived by her four daughters, Maria Barry, Fran Davis, Giovanna Cugno and Julie Camerota, 11 loving grandchildren; Daniel (Sherry), Liz (Anthony), Chris (Erin), Nick (Ashley), Brian (Rabia), Michael (Megan), Gina, Alex (Courtney), Jack (Maria), Kaitlin, Melissa (Nick), and 12 cherished great-grandchildren, as well as her brother Michael Nardella, son-in-law Mike Davis, and many nieces and nephews.
Her family will receive friends on Monday Nov 11, from 5-7 PM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM on Tuesday, November 12, at St. Philip Church, One Fr. Conlon Place, Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery.
