Paul J. Kaminski Obituary
Paul J. Kaminski, 69, of Norwalk, passed away on March 10, 2023.
Born in Stamford, CT, Paul was the loving son of the late Henry J. and Mary Rosa Kaminski.
He is survived by three children, Rachael (and her fiancé Mark), Paul (and his wife Alexandra and their daughter Ripley), his youngest son Thomas, as well as his ex-wife and friend Georgina. Also grieving for Paul is his immediate doggie family – Apollo, Aspen, and Dakota – and of course, all dogs, because they go to heaven.
Paul worked for the City of Norwalk as a painter, or as he would call it a "schmear-er", for 28 years. He was hardworking and dependable. He loved walking the hallways of the schools in Norwalk, surrounded by people calling his name "Hey Paul!", "Hi Mr. Kaminski!", "Yo Big Paul!", "Paul, my man!". He shared funny stories of his times with co-workers and cherished the companionship they all offered.
Paul enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, although in his eyes, he didn't have friends he just had extra family. He lived a loyal and generous life: he loved instantly and cared deeply. Paul's favorite pastimes included listening to music – LOUD and playing air drums with no care of who was watching. He loved to share food and drinks with company, ride his motorcycle and scooter. Paul would reminisce over memories of his kids, adventures in deep sea fishing in Florida, road trips, weddings and "smoking doobies," he would share a story with anyone who would listen. He loved horror movies and cartoons. He loved chocolate, but would always tell you he didn't like sweet things. He was a talented artist, making sculptures and artwork from anything lying around the house… and doodled on everything.
Paul's door is shut for the first time in 69 years, but his family will open their arms and hearts to receive friends on Friday, March 17, 2023 from 4-7 PM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave, Norwalk, with a prayer service to begin at 6:30 PM. Other services will be held privately.
Paul was a simple man who rarely asked for anything for himself. In his honor, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to PAWSct.org.
