Michael Edward Cocchia Obituary
Michael Edward Cocchia, 86, of Norwalk, entered eternal life on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Wilton Meadows. Born in Norwalk, son of the late Edward and Helen (Pepe) Cocchia, he was the loving husband of Ursula (Renzuella) Cocchia for 65 years. A skilled mason, he enjoyed a successful career in home construction.
He valued time spent with friends and family, whether golfing at Oak Hills, playing cards at the Laurel Athletic Club, or honing his hunting skills in the State of Maine in the great outdoors. In his younger years, he enjoyed raising specialty show pigeons, family camping vacations, was an avid bowler, and had a love for music and dancing with his wife. His most cherished pastime was being with his family, often sitting around the table or firepit chatting or enjoying time by the pool; his family brought him joy.
In addition to his devoted wife Ursula, he is survived by their daughters Ursula Leo, Marlo Colon (Chris Colon), three grandchildren Randy Fedor, Michael Leo (Taylor DiPisa), and Adam Leo; and two cherished great-grandchildren, M.J. and Rylee Leo; as well as two sisters, Ida Sandall and Kate Richards (Dennis Tuttle); and beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers-in-law, Frank Sandall and Dale Richards.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 8th at 12:00 noon at The South Norwalk Boat Club, 17 Mack Street, Norwalk CT 06854. Memorial donations can be made to The Tunnel to Towers Foundation. (http://www.t2t.org).
