Linda Tuchy Keena Obituary
Linda Tuchy Keena passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 2nd, 2024, surrounded by her two sons, their families, and her niece.
Linda was the daughter of Margaret de Costa Tuchy and Anthony V. Tuchy. She is predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Harold J. Keena who passed away during Covid, and her sister Patricia T. Conlin.
Linda grew up in Norwalk and graduated from Norwalk High school in 1957. After extensive training at UCONN and Yale New Haven Hospital, she graduated from UCONN School of Nursing in 1961.
Linda was a nurse at Norwalk Hospital for 28 years, including several years as a supervisor. After retiring from the hospital, she continued to work as a nurse at Women's Healthcare of New England for an additional 20 years.
Linda and Harold moved from Norwalk to Darien in 1971, where they raised their two boys. Linda and Harold were members of the Darien Boat Club. Linda loved the water – whether it was Darien, Martha's Vineyard, Block Island or her beloved Florida Keys. She was a dog lover and will be reunited with her beloved Bonnie, the sweetest golden retriever there ever was. But it was her love for her two boys, John and Peter that were her real treasures. Later in life, being close to her sons and their families was her joy.
Linda is survived by her sons – John (Sarah) and Peter (Alison), her grandchildren Lauren (Kyle), Henry, Jennifer and Rebecca.
The family asks that if you wish to make a donation in Linda's honor, please consider The Darien Boat Club, your favorite animal charity or Tunnel to Towers.org. Thank you.
In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that you give your dog an extra treat and a hug from Linda and Harry.
A celebration of her life will take place at a later date.
