He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley H. (Harmel); his grandson Brian Mahoney; and his parents, Joseph E. and Mary A. Mahoney (Gressmann). He is survived by: his children, Martin, Michael (Elizabeth), Mary Ellen (Stuart), James (Debra) and John (Regina); and his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Kelly, Lindsay (Kyle), Abigail, Paul, Mark, Megan, Ryan and Heather (Jason). He is also survived by his family and friends.
