He was predeceased by: his parents, John McGarty and Molly Gallagher McGarty; and his siblings, Madeline Turzer and George McGarty. He is survived by: his wife Sherry Richmond McGarty of Norwalk; and his sons, John McGarty (Carolyn) of Cartersville and James McGarty (Donna) of Norwalk. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great granchild.
