Johanna Muro Obituary

Johanna Muro, age 101, died on February 25, 2025 at Norwalk Hospital. Born in Yugoslavia, on June 15, 1923, the daughter of the late Martin and Magdalena (Petsche) Marintsch, she was also predeceased by her husband Salvator V. Muro, brother Joseph Marintsch and sister Mary Miller.

A resident of Norwalk since 1956, she was a member of the Columbiettes. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her grandchildren.

Johanna is survived by her children, Joseph Muro of Huntington, and Lisa Muro Duffy of Woodstock, GA, four cherished grandchildren, a brother Herbert Marintsch of Austria and several nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive friends on Monday, March 3, from 4-6 PM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk. Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Tuesday, at the funeral home, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk.
