He is survived by: his parents, Lucille Verner of Norwalk and William H. Williams (Jannie) of Norwalk; his wife Stephanie Scott-Verner; his children, Stephanie Adams and Matthew Adams III; his granddaughter Londyn Patterson of North Carolina; his siblings, Angela Henneghan of Norwalk, Anita Verner Daniels (Jack) of Bridgeport, Patricia Verner (Regina) of North Carolina, Alphonso Henneghan Sr. (Vera) of Savannah, GA, Fred Robinson Jr. of Alabama, William T. Williams and Andrew Williams of Norwalk; and his aunt Ruthenia Mullins. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Joey then began working for Prime Energy and was there for 20 years and then employed by the Foundation Source.
