Jeanne E. Pinto Obituary
Jeanne E. Pinto, 94, of Meadow Ridge in Redding, CT, died on December 12, 2024. Born in Albany, New York, the daughter of the late Walter T. and May (Gilbert) Rowcroft, she was predeceased by her husband Albert A. Pinto, and daughter Claudia Aloise.
Jeanne attended and graduated from Marywood University in Scranton, PA. She later completed her master's degree in teaching and then taught her favorite subject History, to middle schoolers for several years before settling down to raise a family of her own. She was born an only child and would often marvel at the size of her own family. Three daughters, three sons-in-law, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Family meant everything to her.
Later she worked as a receptionist at the Music Conservatory of Westchester. In her retirement she volunteered as a reading specialist at St. Lawrence School in Shelton, CT.
Jeanne was an avid reader throughout her life, joined several book clubs, writing clubs and played bridge. She was a regular at the swimming pool. She enjoyed traveling, discussing history and politics. She treasured her friendships, old and new.
Jeanne is survived by her daughters, Diana Gaito and her husband Joseph, and Carolyn Westerholm and her husband Micael, son-in-law Terrence Aloise, eight loving grandchildren, Alexandra Babu, Chelsea Caruso, Jacqueline Rasmussen, Samantha Klouda, Elizabeth Gaito, Nicholas Westerholm, Micael Westerholm and Brendan Westerholm, six great-grandchildren, Ava Babu, James Babu, Ray Caruso III, Evelyn Rasmussen, Marcello Rasmussen and Charlotte Klouda.
Her Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM on January 4, at St. Philip Church, 1 Father Conlon Place, Norwalk, CT. A private burial later in St. Mary Cemetery, Avon, CT.
