Janet Sideleau Obituary
Janet (Halpin) Sideleau, 93, of Norwalk, CT passed away on July 2, 2024. She was brought into this world on March 26, 1931, by Rose and Charles Halpin. She loved her parents dearly and her only sister Mildred who predeceased her.
Janet received a Baccalaureate Degree from the University of Connecticut. In addition to being a homemaker and mother of 7 children, she was a longtime employee of the Westport Public Library and the Westport Bank and Trust.
Janet's love of her family, community, reading, music, and travel to Cape Cod and Ireland will always be remembered. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur a long time Norwalk Firefighter and her son, Jack (Lucie). Janet is survived by her loving children: daughters Kathleen Williams and Annie Sideleau; sons Thomas, Kenneth, Scott, and David (Tara); grandchildren Melanie Sideleau Argo, Blake Gardner, Mackenzie Williams, Devin Sideleau, and great grandchildren: Caileigh and Keira Gardner and Issac Argo.
A Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 9 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Philip Church in Norwalk. A private graveside internment will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Norwalk.
In Janet's memory and for her love of books and the Westport Library, the family requests that all donations be directed to the Westport Public Library.
