James W. Impy Obituary
James William Impy, 70, passed away peacefully in the early hours of Saturday, April 20, 2024.
A lifelong Norwalk resident, Jimmy was born on April 3, 1954 to the late Frank & Jean Impy. The epitome of a "Mr. Fix-It," Jimmy worked for the late owner of Caldor for several years before transitioning to Weston Public Schools as part of the maintenance and custodial staff.
Jimmy loved all things music and muscle cars. You would often find him tinkering in the garage, fixing anything and everything, always making time for dance breaks, lip synching and air guitar riffs to his beloved rock & roll music. Jimmy was happiest when spending time with his family, "chewing the fat" with his friends and making people laugh. You knew it was going to be a good joke when he gave you a nudge with his elbow and cracked himself up before he could even deliver the punchline.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 40 years, Patricia, and his adoring daughter, Elizabeth. In addition to his wife & daughter, Jimmy is survived by his sister, Jane Pender, his brother-in-law, Brian, his nephew, John and was predeceased by his niece, Sarah. He is also survived by his honorary daughters Julia Young and Alyssa Young and countless family and friends who will miss him beyond measure.
His family will receive friends on Saturday, April 27, from 10AM - 12PM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave in Norwalk, CT, followed by a celebration of his life. If you'd like, please feel free to bring photos you have of him and all of your most memorable stories so that we can honor him in the best way we know how, reliving the good times.
