James G. Ferrante Obituary
James (Jim) Gregory Ferrante, 59, of Norwalk, husband of Laurie J. (Robinson) Ferrante for 34 years, died the evening of January 2, 2025 at Norwalk Hospital from a heart attack. He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Isabella Harris, along with her husband Josh Harris, Grace Ferrante, and Rebecca Ferrante, many cousins, significant others, and close friends. James was born in Orlando, FL but raised in Norwalk, CT. He is predeceased by his parents Louis and Josephine (Caimi) Ferrante, sister Lisa (Ferrante) Oborenko and several aunts and uncles.
In his youth, he loved playing with his cousins and kids in the neighborhood. Coming from a big Italian family, his love for cooking started at an early age, and he could be found working in his father's Deli and Restaurant. As he grew into his adolescence, Jimmy Page and the music of Led Zeppelin inspired him to teach himself how to play the guitar. Throughout his young adulthood, he also enjoyed fishing and pheasant hunting with his dogs Brandy & Jake, reflecting his love for nature and animals. At the age of 25, he began his aviation education and career, ultimately becoming a flight instructor for the University of New Haven and a member of the Yale Aviation Club.
In 1997, James became the proud father of Isabella, followed by Grace in 1999 and Rebecca in 2001. During this time, he also passed the Series 7 Exam and worked on Wall Street. Eventually, this would bring him to found his own financial company, Wilson Point Consulting. Working from home afforded him the opportunity to regularly spoil our current dogs, Harley, Henry and Harper. He also cherished the friendships he cultivated in the towns of Rowayton and Darien, where he would spend many nights enjoying good food, drinks, and laughter.
Although he struggled with health issues, James had a zest for life and a tenacious attitude for the things he was passionate about. His life may have been short, but he achieved great things. His family will receive friends on Thursday, Jan. 9 from 10 am -12 noon, with a prayer service at noon, at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk, CT.
